Looking ahead: International Women's Day

In preparation for the upcoming International Women's Day on Friday (3/8), at this week's Monday meeting we will be viewing the documentary Miss Representation. The film explores the media's portrayal of women and how this has led to the underrepresentation of women in influential positions in society. Check out the trailer below:

Come ready to watch this powerful film and to begin the discussions centering around issues effecting women around the world that will continue through International Women's Day and beyond. We will meet in our usual location, 1217 Humanities, at 6PM. New members are always welcome!

Please note, that due to restrictions on checking out this film from the library we cannot guarantee access to this film tomorrow. As an alternative, we will be showing another thought provoking documentary, Surviving Progress. So, in all circumstances, we will have a great film to watch and many important and interesting topics to discuss relating to global issues.

Also, look out for more information tomorrow about Tawi's upcoming International Women's Day event which will take place this Friday, March 8th, in collaboration with Partners In Health-Engage Madison.
